In Blog, Design, Interior Design, Renovation

You don’t have to live in a beach house to enjoy some nautical decor in your bathroom. This kind of decor looks good in the bathroom of a home in nearly any location.

So with that in mind, let’s look at some ways to add sea-themed touches.

1. Cabinets

Cabinets are a large, visible part of your bathroom. As such, it’s a great starting point for adding some beach or oceanic aesthetics. There are lots you can do here. For example, check out this set of cabinets with a variety of sea creatures on it:

2. Cabinet knobs

The cabinet knobs may be small, but you use them to open those cabinets mentioned above — making them a great place for nautical touches. Check out this compass-themed set of knobs as an example:

3. Towel Hooks

4. Toilet Paper Holder

Hey, even something as small and seemingly insignificant as your toilet paper holder offers nautical opportunities. Just take a look at this one, which is shaped like an octopus:

5. Mirrors

Mirrors are an easy place to add some touches of the ocean. A great example would be to get a mirror that looks like a porthole, kind of like this one:

6. Lights

7. Shower Curtain

The shower curtain is yet another prominent area of your bathroom. Since it’s indirectly involved in a location where water is — your shower/bath — it’s a fantastic place to add some touches of the deep blue sea.

8. Bath Mats

As you might see in the above picture, the bath mat is another place next to your shower for some ocean or beach touches. Here’s another good example, containing a giant image of an anchor.

9. Wall Decor

Wall decor offers plenty of opportunities since it’s so broad. Whether you want to add some sea creatures, ships, lighthouses, anchors, or ship steering wheels, you can customize your wall decor for whatever nautical look you want.

10. Candle Holders

Candles on their own add a touch of charm to your bathroom. However, you can take this further by incorporating it into the rest of your nautical decor. Here’s a great example of what that might look like:
